Drip campaigns

Drip campaigns send a series of messages on a schedule you define. A contact enters the drip and receives each message automatically — message 1 on enrollment, message 2 two days later, message 3 a week after that. Use drips for lead nurture sequences, new client onboarding, renewal reminders, and any workflow where timing matters.

Navigate to Drip Campaigns in the left sidebar. Four stat cards show Total Drips, Active, Contacts Enrolled, and Avg Reply Rate. The table below lists each drip with its name, status, and enrollment count. Click the expand arrow on any row to see a funnel visualization showing how contacts move through each step.

  1. Click Create Drip Campaign.
  2. Step 1 — Info: Enter a name and description for the campaign.
  3. Step 2 — Target: Select the tags and/or individual contacts to enroll. For tag-based targets, choose whether to message the primary contact, the co-applicant (secondary), or both.
  4. Step 3 — Steps: Build the message sequence. The first step sends immediately on enrollment. Every step after the first requires a delay — enter a value and choose the unit (minutes, hours, or days). Add as many steps as you need, and drag to reorder them. Each step contains an SMS message body with support for placeholder variables.
  5. Step 4 — Settings: Choose a re-entry cooldown: never re-enroll, or wait 30, 60, 90, or 180 days, or 1 year before the same contact can enter again. Set a send delay after enrollment opens, and configure how many minutes before your office closes to stop sending that day. The settings step also shows the estimated total duration of the full sequence. You must open this step at least once before the Save button becomes active.

Several conditions will automatically remove a contact from a drip. These behaviors are always active and cannot be disabled:

  • Exit on reply — if the contact responds to any message in the sequence, they exit immediately.
  • Exit if trigger tag removed — if the contact no longer has the tag that enrolled them, they exit.
  • Exit on opt-out — contacts who unsubscribe are removed from all active drips.
  • Respect business hours — messages never send outside your configured office hours.

Click the pencil icon on any drip to reopen the wizard with your current settings. Changes apply to contacts who haven’t yet reached the affected steps — contacts who already received a step are not affected retroactively.

  • Re-entry cooldown “never” means once a contact completes or exits a drip, they will never be automatically re-enrolled, even if the trigger tag is added again later.
  • Stop before close gives you a buffer so you don’t send a message at 4:58 PM that a contact can’t act on before the office closes.
  • If the dashboard shows sample data, your account has no real drip campaigns yet — create your first one to see live metrics.
