First-day checklist
Work through this list on your first day. Each item takes only a few minutes, and skipping them is the most common reason new users run into problems their first week.
Account & security
Section titled “Account & security”- Log in successfully — confirm your email, password, and MFA (if required) all work. See Welcome & first login.
- Set up MFA — even if your agency hasn’t mandated it yet, do this now. Go to your Profile → Security → Enable MFA.
- Change your temporary password — if your admin gave you a one-time password, change it to something personal from your Profile page.
Profile completeness
Section titled “Profile completeness”- Add your full name — this appears on messages and call records that clients and teammates see.
- Upload a profile photo — a headshot makes it easier for teammates to identify you in shared queues and logs.
- Set your phone extension — required for inbound call routing. Confirm the correct extension with your administrator if you’re unsure.
- Fill in your NPN — required for licensed producers. Leave blank if you are non-licensed staff.
- Select your Employee Groups and Location — these control which call queues, SMS lines, and permissions apply to you.
Phone & audio
Section titled “Phone & audio”- Open the Phone panel and configure audio devices — click the gear icon and set your Microphone, Speakers, and Ring Device. Test each one. See Notifications.
- Make or receive a test call — ask a teammate to call your extension and confirm you can hear them and they can hear you.
Browser permissions
Section titled “Browser permissions”- Allow browser notifications for Traise — when prompted by the browser, click Allow. If you missed it, update the site permission manually in your browser settings.
Navigation orientation
Section titled “Navigation orientation”Take 10 minutes to click through each main section so nothing is unfamiliar when a client is on the line:
- Contacts — find an existing client record and open their detail view.
- Messages — open your SMS/chat inbox and confirm threads load.
- Tasks — look at your task board; confirm any pre-assigned tasks are visible.
- Phone — verify the dial pad opens and your status (Available / Offline) is set correctly.
- Calendar — check if any meetings or follow-ups are already scheduled for you.
